WHAT DOES UNITED WAY DO?
United Way of Mid-Maine is a local organization that creates long-lasting community change by addressing the underlying causes of our most significant local problems. We proudly serve the people of Somerset, Northern Kennebec, and Western Waldo Counties (service area map here). With three full-time staff, one part-time staff, and over 630 dedicated volunteers, UWMM is able to leverage donated dollars in a way that maximizes the impact for those who need it most.
Mobilizing our Mid-Maine community to improve outcomes in Health, Education, and Financial Stability.
United Way of Mid-Maine successfully facilitates opportunities for all Mid-Mainers to achieve their highest potential.
PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE: MORE THAN 300 LOCAL PEOPLE VOLUNTEER FOR UWMM
We dedicate ourselves to advancing the common good in our community by working with 26 partner agencies providing programs that create solutions to the problems many face every day in Mid-Maine. By working as a team with numerous non-profit agencies, volunteers and donors like you, United Way of Mid-Maine community partners are able to provide critical services to meet the greatest human needs in our communities. UWMM focuses on addressing these three issue areas:
Meeting Immediate Needs
Strengthening Children, Youth, and Families
Each is backed by a Community Impact Team (CIT) which develops an expertise in their own particular area, forms a vision with critical objectives, and works with surrounding partner agencies to fulfill those objectives. This effort results in major improvements in our community.
