United Way of Mid-Maine Announces Sale of Waterville Office Building
WATERVILLE, ME – November 24, 2020 – The United Way of Mid-Maine has accepted an offer on the sale of their office building, located on Kennedy Memorial Drive in Waterville. The sale is expected to be finalized the first week in December.
The decision to sell was made earlier this year by the UWMM Board of Directors. Rachel Grant, board member, says “We are excited about this new chapter for UWMM. The board is confident this change will give our employees the flexibility they need to connect with our communities. Be assured that we are not going away.”
The three staff members, who have been working remotely since the beginning of the pandemic, will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
“This past year has proven that working remotely has not affected our ability to serve our Mid-Maine communities,” says Al Smith, President and CEO of UWMM, “The sale of our building will allow us to lower our overhead and ensure a maximum return of our donations back into the community.”
United Way of Mid-Maine serves 57 communities throughout Somerset, western Waldo, and northern Kennebec Counties. They partner with nonprofit organizations to improve outcomes in health, education, and financial stability, by facilitating opportunities for all Mid-Mainers to achieve their highest potential.
