Community First Fund Eligibility Clarification
WATERVILLE, ME – April 30, 2020 – United Way of Mid-Maine has been made aware of some confusion around their Community First Fund and who is eligible to apply for funding. At this time, they are accepting applications from any non-profit organization who has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes organizations that are providing relief to the community, as well as organizations that have had to close or have seen a loss in funding.
“Due to the urgency of the situation, we established the Community First Fund very quickly in order to start raising and distributing funds,” says Al Smith, President and CEO of UWMM. “We have reviewed the description and messaging around the fund and have adjusted to clarify who and what is eligible for funding. We understand that every organization is affected differently, and we want to support them in any way that we can.”
The Community First Fund is designed to provide extra funding to local non-profit organizations by funding programs or projects that address a need in the community, or aid in the continuation of an organizations mission. Learn more by visiting http://www.uwmm.org/community-first-fund/
